My “Wealthy Affiliate” Review: Avoid Affiliate Marketing Scams

If you have delved into the world of online marketing at all you’ll already have noticed that it has become saturated by clickbait-y titles and other clever marketing schemes. It goes to say, there are a lot of scams out there.

That’s why it’s more difficult now than ever to find honest and effective education on the internet.

Fortunately, because of the increase in competition, those who want to stand out from the crowd must develop outstanding products, thus raising the standard for their respective industries.

I have spent the last month researching about the best online marketing training, taking trials lessons, peaking into different paid courses and watching YouTube review.s

In the the following review, I will let you know why I made the decision to take part in an online university for affiliate marketing with Wealthy Affiliate, and why I believe they are at the forefront of education in this industry.

The best way to learn how to avoid any business-related scam is to learn how a legitimate and honourable system works, and use that as a bench mark for comparison.

Name: Wealthy Affiliate

Price: $0 for starter account/ $49 Premium Membership

Owners: Kyle and Carson

Overall Rank: 5.0 out of 5.0

Training: 5.0 out of 5.0

The reason why I gave a perfect score for training is because of the unlimited potential there is for available new content. Every week, there is a live webinar that you can be invited to. They are being taught by Jay AKA Magistudio. Jay is a senior member (ambassador), and has many years of experience in online marketing.

In these live webinars, there is a live chat, and also a live Q and A session afterwards.

Additionally, members are encouraged to produce their own training.

The popularity of the training determined by the reputation and credentials of the member, so in a sense, a free market for training and education.

Now, aside from all this, there is the core foundation of education at Wealthy Affiliate which is consists of written and video instruction, with a comment section for questions.

I estimate that there is at least ten hours of video, and depending on how fast you learn, this may take you a month to finish. Not to mention the time needed to refer back to the lessons for further study.

This is a legit online entrepreneur certification.

With a free starter membership, you get access to level 1. Which is 10 lessons. A great way to get a sense of the education you’ll receive.

Like most skill-based learning, it may take you half a year to a year to become proficient in affiliate marketing.

Now, the thing that stood out to me the most about Wealthy Affiliate is the sense of community once you become a member.

There will always be someone online to answer a question in the live chat, and the comment section for every training module is full of dynamic discussion. The website is just buzzing with activity, filled with people helping each other with learning and growing.

Research and Site building tools: 5.0 out of 5

Most paid training courses do not include any tools, unless it is up-sold to you within the course.

In my opinion, that’s another one of the less than honest marketing schemes a lot of marketers take advantage of.

At Wealthy Affiliate, a free starter membership gives you access to web-hosting and integrated WordPress for 2 websites.

So, even with a starter account, you can develop websites right away.

This is an integrated web-building and hosting platform called SiteRubix.

From SiteRubix, you can:

  • Manage and access your existing websites
  • Start building a website with WordPress on a domain you own
  • Buy or move domains (this includes free domains hosted on dot SiteRubix)
  • Produce Content for your websites
  • Comment on content produced by the network and also share your content to be commented on
  • Receive feedback on your website
  • Receive help for your website

Then, there’s Jaaxy. The flagship keyword and niche research tool (if you’re new to affiliate marketing, niche research is ,basically, finding your audience).

You can access Jaaxy for 30 free keyword searches upon signing up for a free membership.

Give it a try. Punch in a keyword you want to inquiry below.

I often think that this tool worth the membership in itself. If you are in the online marketing industry, keyword search tools are essential.

Once you get comfortable with the layout of the website and get a sense of where your education is going, Wealthy Affiliate has a premium program.

When you feel like you want to take your affiliate marketing education more seriously, you will have access to more options for Jaaxy,  the full list of certification courses, and the “Affiliate Bootcamp“, where you will learn how to market and promote the Wealthy Affiliate program itself, becoming, essentially, a partner and generating income as one.

For less than the price of buying a new video game a month, you can have access to everything you need to gain educational access to the laptop life-style.

Below is a full comparison of the starter membership and a premium membership.

Success Stories: 5.0 out of 5

At Wealthy Affiliate, there is an option to write your own blogs. These blogs are shared among your connections and friends, basically your network within this learning community.

This way, you can be constantly motivated and inspired by stories of success and personal-overcoming. If you’re less of the sentimental type, it is great to just see the effectiveness of the education tools.

Another stand-out feature of Wealthy Affiliate is the “ambassador” program.

In this program, a member can eventually qualify to represent Wealthy Affiliate, and also gain special recognition in the community.

Personally, I believe that rewards are paramount to the successful achievement of a goal, and it is something that is implemented excellently here. Someone who is less status-driven, can simply see that those who rank “ambassador” are the go-to people for questions and advice.

If you are the ambitious type (which I’m sure you are, being interested in affiliate marketing and everything), there is a super affiliate incentive program every year, in which the most successful marketers get invited to an all inclusive trip.

Personally, I am thinking about this program every day and it is one of the main motivators I have to grind it out. Having a “carrot” to look forward to is very important in any endeavour.

This “carrot” becomes even more real when I read the blogs of the marketers that qualified for the trip. I can’t help but be inspired by all the success I see. It pushes me to watch that extra how-to video, to create more innovative content, and just continue to move forward.

Overall Score: 5.0 out of 5

Just like in any other place, it becomes defined by the people. The community. That’s why I think this is the defining aspect of Wealthy Affiliate that makes it stand out from the rest of the paid courses I’ve seen.

You are not only paying for an educational resource (and website-building support, and keyword search tools), you are paying for the network which is impossible to duplicate.

The design of the website makes it so that everyone is rewarded for contributing, which in turn makes it a very positive and supportive environment.

We’ve all had our share of toxic work environments. Those currently stuck in one can find reprieve at Wealthy Affiliate. All in all, it is wonderful to be joining thousands of people online who are focusing on improving themselves and how they contribute to the internet and world.
